Friendship Peak Expedition Experiences
Friendship Peak Expedition is one of the most popular beginner-friendly mountaineering expeditions in Himachal Pradesh. Located in the Pir Panjal range near Manali, Friendship Peak stands at an altitude of approximately 17,352 ft (5,289 meters) and offers a perfect introduction to high-altitude mountaineering.
Unlike regular treks, this expedition involves glacier walking, use of technical mountaineering equipment, and proper acclimatization. The journey takes you through beautiful alpine meadows, moraines, and snowfields before reaching the summit ridge. Throughout the expedition, you get stunning views of peaks such as Hanuman Tibba, Deo Tibba, Indrasan, and Shitidhar.
The highlight of the expedition is summit day. Starting early in the morning under the star-lit sky, climbers gradually ascend snow slopes and glacial terrain. Reaching the summit rewards you with breathtaking 360-degree views of the surrounding Himalayan ranges — a truly unforgettable achievement.
Friendship Peak is categorized as a moderate to challenging expedition and is ideal for trekkers who wish to step into the world of mountaineering with proper guidance and safety support.
