Hampta Pass Trek Experiences

Hampta Pass Trek is one of the most dramatic crossover treks in Himachal Pradesh. It connects the lush green Kullu Valley with the stark, desert-like landscape of Lahaul. This sudden contrast in scenery makes Hampta Pass one of the most unique and visually rewarding treks in the Himalayas.

The journey begins near Manali, taking you through dense pine forests, riverside trails, and vast alpine meadows. As you gain altitude, the landscape transforms into rocky terrain and snow-covered slopes. Crossing Hampta Pass at an altitude of approximately 14,100 ft, you witness breathtaking views of surrounding peaks and glaciers. The descent into Lahaul feels like stepping into a different world, with barren mountains and dramatic valleys.

The trek is categorized as moderate, making it suitable for beginners with good fitness levels as well as experienced trekkers looking for adventure. River crossings, scenic campsites, and changing landscapes make every day exciting and memorable.
