Indrahar pass trek Experiences
The Indrahar Pass Trek is one of the most scenic and adventurous high-altitude treks in Himachal Pradesh. Located in the Dhauladhar range near Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj, this trek offers dramatic mountain views, rocky terrain, alpine landscapes, and a thrilling pass crossing experience.
The journey begins from McLeod Ganj or Dharamkot and gradually ascends through dense forests of oak and rhododendron. The trail first takes you to the popular Triund ridge and then continues towards Lahesh Cave, where the landscape becomes rugged and more alpine in nature. As you approach Indrahar Pass, the terrain turns rocky and challenging, offering breathtaking views of the Pir Panjal range on one side and the Kangra Valley on the other.
Situated at an altitude of approximately 14,245 ft, Indrahar Pass serves as a natural gateway between Kangra and Chamba valleys. The summit provides panoramic views of snow-covered peaks and dramatic ridgelines. The trek is categorized as moderate to challenging, making it suitable for trekkers with good fitness levels and some prior trekking experience.
With its combination of scenic beauty, steep ascents, and rewarding summit views, the Indrahar Pass Trek is perfect for adventure seekers looking for a thrilling Himalayan experience.
